Mild Steel Gussets for Chassis Tube Joint Reinforcement

Pro-Werks mild steel gussets for chassis fabrication

Pro-Werks Mild Steel Gussets are purpose-built for reinforcing tube junctions and high-stress joints in chassis and roll cage construction. Unlike tabs and brackets — which create attachment points — gussets are structural components that distribute load across a joint and reduce the risk of cracking or failure at weld intersections.

When and Where to Use Gussets

Gussets are most effective when added to joints that experience bending, torsion, or impact loads. Common applications include:

  • Roll cage tube junctions — main hoop to roof bar
  • Chassis frame rail intersections and crossmember connections
  • Suspension pickup point reinforcement on tube chassis
  • Any joint where two tubes meet at an angle under dynamic load

Standard vs. Lightened Gussets

Pro-Werks offers gussets in two basic sizes and in a lightened version with material removed to reduce weight. The lightened version is a popular choice for weight-conscious builds where every gram counts. Die stamped and tumbled for clean, ready-to-weld edges. Mild steel can be successfully welded to both mild steel and chromoly using the proper filler rod.
