4130N Chromoly Roll Cage Kits & Pre-Bent Tubing — Leave the Bending to Us

Whether you’re building a new race car from scratch or updating your current chassis, The Chassis Shop carries Pro-werks pre-bent 4130N chromoly cage kits and individual tubing components — precision bent and ready for fabrication. Perfect for the professional chassis builder and the serious do-it-yourselfer. Standard kits fit most installations; custom kits are available built to your specifications.

6 Point Pre-Bent Chromoly Cage Kits — Standard Packages

Order everything you need with a single part number. Each kit includes a matched set of pre-bent front hoop, intermediate hoop — available in three tube diameter sizes to match your build requirements.

Individual Pre-Bent Chromoly Cage Components — Hoops, Bars & Kits

Build your cage your way with individual pre-bent components. All pieces are 4130N normalized chromoly, precision bent to consistent radii and angles. Available in 1-1/8", 1-1/2", and 1-5/8" tube diameters with 0.083" wall thickness.

Custom Cage Kits & Custom Tube Bending — Built to Your Specs

Need something beyond a standard kit? The Chassis Shop offers custom bending of 4130 chromoly tubing to your specifications. Minimum basic single bend starts at $50.00 per bend plus material. Complex pieces requiring additional layout time are charged accordingly. Please allow 5–10 business days for scheduling. Tube bending capabilities range from 3/8" to 1-5/8" OD with bend radii from 15/16" to 7".

  • Custom Six Point Cage Kit — Front Hoop, Intermediate Hoop & Back Bar to Your Specs — Pro-werks Custom Six Point Cage Kit — submit your dimensions via the product form for review
  • Custom Tube Bending — Acute, Right Angle, Obtuse, Parallel, Dual Angle & Complex Bends — Pro-werks Custom Tube Bending — 3/8"–1-5/8" OD, submit your bend diagram for review

Questions and Answers

Can I weld Mild Steel to Chromoly Steel?

Yes, it is a very common practice. Mild Steel and 4130N Chromoly Steel can be welded together using the proper welding process and the correct filler rod.

Is 4130N Chromoly Steel stronger than Mild Steel?

Yes. 4130N Chromoly steel has a significantly higher tensile strength than mild steel, making it a preferred material for high-stress components. Ideal for fabrication of suspension, linkage components, and applications where maximum strength-to-weight ratio is required.

Should I sand off the surface scale of metal before welding?

Yes, it is always a good practice to clean any material in the areas to be welded to reduce the potential introduction of impurities from affecting the final strength of the weld.

Do I need to normalize a component or chassis made of 4130N Chromoly Steel after welding?

Some applications may require normalizing while others may not. This is a complex topic and can't be adequately addressed in a short paragraph. Please call our tech team at 800-530-9494 to discuss your specific project.

How do I telescope or slip-fit tubing?

For the best fit when telescoping tubing, select 0.058" wall tubing and slide over tubing with a 1/8" smaller outside diameter (O.D.).

Example: 1-1/8" x .058" tubing fits over 1" O.D. tubing

Drawing of round tubing sections telescoped together in decreasing diameters

Why does this 4130N Chromoly plate cost more than others?

We offer only high quality Certified Chromoly Plate. We do not make substitutions with other perceived to be similar materials or with off shore look-a-likes that aren't the same quality or strength.
