Our Foundation is Deep
I’m Stu Spears, founder of The Chassis Shop. This is more than just my story; it’s ours.
As with most great stories there is a spark that starts a fire. My passion for mechanical devices was ignited over 50 years ago, at the age of eleven, when my father hand sketched a diagram on the basics of how an internal combustion engine worked. My innate knowledge of mechanical devices was catalyzed. Many great teachers and mentors that followed were also influential in cultivating my life long ambitions in motorsports.
Throughout my youth I was heavily involved in my own racing efforts, and after completing school this passion for performance led to the birth of The Chassis Shop in a small 1,000 sq ft garage. It didn’t take long, and the good news of our customers’ successes grew to span the globe with the use of our custom built race cars and our wide range of innovative products. Our successes have resulted in forging deep associations with some of the greatest names in all forms of racing.
Now more than four decades later we are still moving forward as leaders in our industry, and our facility houses some of the latest advanced technologies. I’m also pleased to share that I’m an owner still very involved in all aspects: designing, testing, on the shop floor, working closely with customers, and you might even catch me on the phone. We've not been dilluted by an equity group buyout, and I’m still very passionate about making a positive impact in our exciting world of high performance motorsports.
The Chassis Shop’s commitment remains the same today as in our humble beginnings: we're focused on performance and delivering cutting-edge products to you at fair price. We've grown to become the One Stop supplier for specialized fabrication and performance motorsports components.
