Mild Steel Weld Flanges

Mild Steel Weld Flanges for Tube Chassis Frame Connections

Pro-Werks Mild Steel Flanges serve a distinct purpose in chassis fabrication — they create bolt-together connection points between sections of a tubular frame rail, or provide a clean mounting flange for removable chassis components. This is a fundamentally different function from a tab or bracket, and the right tool when you need a demountable joint.

Primary Applications for Weld Flanges

Flanges are most commonly used when a chassis section needs to be removable or when two frame rails must be joined with a bolted connection rather than a permanent weld. Common uses include:

  • Bolt-together frame rail connections — front clip to main chassis, removable rear sections
  • Mounting flanges for bolt-on nerf bars, bumpers, and body panels
  • Removable crossmember attachment points
  • Any application where a section of the chassis must be disassembled for transport, inspection, or repair

Material & Weldability

Mild steel flanges can be successfully welded to both mild steel and chromoly using the proper filler rod. For applications requiring maximum strength at the flange joint, consider fabricating from chromoly plate. Always consider the load path through the flange when designing the bolted connection — bolt size, pattern, and clamping force all affect joint integrity.
