Silver Jacket Shifter Push and Pull Cable Specifications

  • 10-32 NF threaded rod on each
  • Flexible housing measures only 0.325 in. outside diameter
  • Cable length is measured tip to tip of the 10-32 NF rods

How do you determine the length of a Push-Pull Shifter Control Cable needed for your application?

You can measure for tip-to-tip length (overall length), by using a hose, rope or flexible tape measure through the actual intended cable route.

See diagram for mounting type choices and travel dimensions for compatibility with your application.

Overall Cable length is measured tip-to-tip of the 10-32 NF rods.

Silver Jacket Universal Shifter Push Pull Cables are available in 6-inch increments, so you can quickly and affordably get the length that you need for a proper fit!

This large on-the-shelf selection of sizes eliminates waiting for custom-built push-pull cables to be assembled.

Silver Jacket Cables Deliver Maximum Flexibility — Smooth Operation

Hand holding a coiled Pro-Werks push pull cable with gray jacket, black boot and threaded rod end

Pro-werks cables are ideal for any cable operated application that requires pushing or pulling, and very well suited for all extreme use environments. This combination should be considered as an upgrade replacement for Teleflex Morse TFxtreme and Red Jacket Morse throttle push pull control cables.

Rated at 60# pull and 50# push, intermittent loads may exceed these ratings considerably without failure. These recommended load ratings of the Silver Jacket Control Cable reflect a balance between maximum load and reasonable cable life.

These aren’t a flimsy garden equipment control cable that will let you down when you need it the most ... these are heavy duty push pull cables suitable for many cable control applications. Including Marine, Mercruiser, Industrial, Off Road, Race Cars, Performance Automotive, Home Built Aircraft, Agricultural, and Street Rods.

Silver Jacket Cable Construction Overview

Armored multi-strand core

Cable with a white outer jacket stripped back to expose a bundle of dark stranded wire and a thinner inner strand

The unique flat winding around the Multi-Strand Stainless Steel core is part of the inner secret to the Silver Jacket Ultimate cable’s superior performance. The end result is a dependable and flexible zero-friction push/pull cable assembly.

Fitted with efficient dynamic seals and requiring very little effort; these lightweight cables have a full circle of reinforcement wires to protect and support the inner liner; influencing positive load transfer with minimal lost motion. Ideal for high performance, off road and marine push-pull cable applications.

This series of motion control cable can also be used in pull-pull cable installations.

The Silver Jacket Ultimate cable is capable of tight radius bends with minimal resistance, making this the recommended choice for smooth universal throttle cable control. As the Silver Jacket name implies, these 33 series cables come in the trademark silver color - that will complement any paint color scheme.

Questions and Answers
How do I measure total cable length?

Use a flexible ruler, or hose and snake it through the intended cable route. The cable length is measured from tip-to-tip (overall length) of the attaching ends—not the cable housing mounting points.

Do I need to incorporate travel limit stop?

Incorporating a positive stop (travel limiter) on the pedal, lever or activation device is highly recommended.

When the adrenelin is pumping in the heat of competition - it is common to push a pedal or a lever further and harder than intended.

A positive stop will increase cable life by taking the excess load off the cable and avoid damaging the device being activated.

How do I protect my cable from extreme exhaust heat?

Installing a heat-deflecting shield with adequate air space between any extreme heat source and cable housing is recommended.

Do I need to lubricate a Silver Jacket Cable?

The cable construction is engineered to run dry, no lubrication is required.
