What Are Quarter-Turn Dzus Fasteners?
The Dzus fastener — also known as a turnlock fastener or quick-action panel fastener — is a quarter-turn spiral cam lock fastener originally developed for securing skin panels on aircraft. The unique “over-center” design requires positive sustained torque to unfasten, meaning any vibration disturbance will tend to self-correct rather than loosen the fastener. Common trade names include Dzus, Southco Dzus, Camloc, and Airloc.
