Mild Steel Radius Weld Tabs

Mild Steel Radius Weld Tabs for Tube Chassis Fabrication

Pro-Werks Mild Steel Radius Tabs are specifically designed to mount perpendicular to the centerline of a tube — the curved base conforms to the tube’s outer diameter for a flush, full-contact weld. This is a fundamentally different geometry from a flat tab, and the right choice when you’re attaching directly to round tubing.

Radius Tabs vs. Flat Tabs — Key Difference

A flat tab welded to round tubing makes contact only at its edges. A radius tab’s curved base distributes the weld across a larger contact area — resulting in a stronger, more consistent joint. Use radius tabs when:

  • Mounting directly to the side of a tube chassis rail or cage member
  • Attaching components perpendicular to a tube where full weld contact is important
  • Building harness, fuel line, or brake line routing tabs on round tube
  • Any application where a flat tab would leave gaps at the weld joint

Adjusting the Radius to Fit Your Tubing

If the tab radius doesn’t match your tube diameter exactly, the radius can be easily modified by grinding — a quick shop operation that takes seconds. Mild steel can be successfully welded to both mild steel and chromoly using the proper filler rod. For high-load applications, upgrade to Pro-Werks Chromoly Radius Tabs.
